Privacy Policy.

TryMyCompany is built to protect people from charges they didn't mean to authorize. Protecting your data is part of the same job. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, and what we deliberately choose not to store.

Who we are

TryMyCompany is operated by TryMyCompany LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“TryMyCompany,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to the TryMyCompany website and the trial-tracking and reminder services offered through it. Our service is intended for residents of the United States only, and you must be at least 18 years old to use it.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what we need to run the service. Here is the complete list.

Account data

Managed through Clerk

When you create an account, authentication is handled by our identity provider, Clerk. Depending on how you sign up, Clerk stores your email address, your name, and - if you choose Google sign-in - the basic profile information Google returns through OAuth. We use this to identify your account, secure your login, and send you service messages. Clerk processes this data on our behalf; see Clerk's own privacy policy for how they handle it. You can also choose to share a city or ZIP code in your settings so we can show offers near you. This is entirely optional: we never require it, never infer your location from your device or IP address for this purpose, and you can clear it at any time.

Waitlist & email

Stored with Resend

If you join our waitlist or otherwise give us your email, we store that address in an audience managed by our email provider, Resend. We use Resend to send transactional reminders (for example, the notice before a tracked trial converts to paid) and waitlist or product updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.

Trial-tracking data

Information you enter yourself

When you track a trial, you tell us details such as the merchant, the dates involved, and any amounts you record. We store this so we can show you your dashboard and send the reminders you asked for. We do not ask for - and you should never enter - your payment card numbers, bank login credentials, or merchant account passwords.

Affiliate click logs

Hashed - we do not store raw IPs

When you click an outbound link to a merchant, we record the event so we can attribute referrals and detect fraud. We deliberately do not store your raw IP address or raw browser user-agent string. Instead, we take each value, combine it with a salt that rotates every day, and store only a truncated one-way hash. Because the salt changes daily, these hashes cannot be reliably linked back to you or correlated across days - they support same-day fraud checks without building a durable tracking profile. Alongside the hashes we store the trial, the affiliate network, the outbound URL, and the referring page.

Hosting logs

Standard server logs via Vercel

Our site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard operational logs (such as request metadata) to run and secure the infrastructure. This is normal web-hosting activity that happens for essentially every website. See Vercel's privacy policy for details on how they process this data.

The short version

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not store raw IP addresses.
We collect the minimum to do the job you hired us for.

How we use your data

  • To create and secure your account and log you in.
  • To run the tracker and send the trial reminders you asked for.
  • To send transactional messages and, if you opted in, waitlist or product updates.
  • To attribute affiliate referrals and detect fraudulent clicks, using the hashed logs described above.
  • To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.

Affiliate relationships

Some outbound links to merchants are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you sign up through them. This does not change the price you pay. We are transparent about how this works and which trials earn us money - including the ones we refuse to monetize - on our How we get paid page.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third parties' own marketing. We share data only with the service providers that help us run TryMyCompany, and only so they can perform their function for us:

  • Clerk - authentication and account management.
  • Resend - waitlist storage and email delivery.
  • Vercel - application hosting and operational logs.
  • Our database and infrastructure providers, which store the trial and account data described above.

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

How long we keep it

We keep account and trial-tracking data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, security, and operational needs. Hashed click logs are kept only as long as useful for attribution and fraud prevention. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the personal data associated with it, except where we are required to retain it.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You can view and update most account details from your dashboard, or email us for help.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Email opt-out. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link; you can also email us to be removed from the waitlist. We will still send essential transactional messages while your account is open.
  • State privacy rights. Depending on where you live in the US, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Contact us to exercise them and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

To make any of these requests, email hello@trymycompany.com.

Children and US-only scope

TryMyCompany is offered only to US residents who are 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including delegating authentication to a specialized provider and hashing click-log identifiers rather than storing them raw. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email where appropriate.
